10 Major Wars That Changed The World

There have been many such battles in the world's 10 big wars, which have twisted the pages of history. Some skirmishes took place in which lakhs of people died in the mouth of Kaal, while others remained, which scattered the entire empire. So much money was spent in these wars that it is difficult to estimate it. No exact data of casualties is available yet.

World War I:

In the first World war, people saw the widespread fight for the first time. At that time, this war was fought in every country and continent, where European forces were dominant. A battle was fought with equal strength in Asia, This war started on July 28, 1914, and lasted till November 11, 1918. That is 4 years, 3 months, and 2 weeks. Due to this war, 3.9 crore people were killed, out of which around 13 lakh 50 thousand soldiers were from the German Empire alone. Russia suffered about 1.2 million lives in this war. This war resulted in the collapse of Germany, Russian, the Austrian-Hungarian, and the Ottoman Empire. And many new countries emerged around the world, especially in Europe. As a result of this war, for the first time, a worldwide organization like the League of Nations came into existence to establish peace.

World War II:

World War II proved fatal than World War I. In this war, the countries of the world represented dangerous weapons and caused the destruction of a large population. The war started on September 1, 1939, with Germany's attack on Poland, which ended on September 2, 1945, after the defeat of Japan after the US nuclear bomb attack on Japan. That is, the war lasted for 6 years and 1 day. This war was fought in almost all countries of Europe, Asia, America, Africa. Which broke the back of influential countries. 7 crore 30 lakh people died in this war. The world saw nuclear power for the first time in this war. Many new countries also gave birth to this war. This war brought stable countries like Italy, Japan, and Germany to the brink of total destruction. At the same time, the whole world was thrown into a cold war between America and Soviet Russia.

Battle of Waterloo:

The Battle of Waterloo was fought in 1815. This was the last war of Napoleon, the great nationalist warrior of France. In this war, France was on one side and the army of Britain, Russia, Prussia, Austria, Hungary on the other side. Napoleon surrendered after being defeated in battle. In this war, about one lakh of people were killed, and France was severely beaten. This war, which lasted only one day, gave Europe a new direction and condition.

Korea War:

This was the first necessary war fought during the Cold War era. This war was fought on the pretext of Korea to establish domination over the world. In which communist powers China and Russia participated indirectly on behalf of North Korea, the US and Britain took the front on behalf of South Korea. From June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953, this war, which lasted for 3 years, 1 month, and 2 days, killed about 5 lakh soldiers and 25 lakh, ordinary people. This war is going on indirectly because the ceasefire is temporarily in force. There is always tension in both countries.

Battle of Arbella (Gaugamela-decisive):

Arbella always fought between the army of Alexander the Great and the army of King Darius alias Dara of Persia (Iran). But the first encounter took place in Gaugamela, which was the most fatal. Nearly 3 lakh Iranian soldiers were killed in this war. It was from this war that Alexander established his supremacy in the war. He was not only on the battlefield himself but was also leading the last troop to attack Dara. Due to this war, it is revealed that Alexander is Sherril. When its generals said that the Iranian army should be attacked at night so that our small army does not panic with the Iranian military. Alexander then said that he believed in winning the war, not in snatching victory. In this way, he dusted off the Iranian army of 3 lakhs with his 40 thousand soldiers and chased and destroyed them. This war engulfed the sizeable Persian empire. The killing of 3 lakh people in the battle of 3 centuries before BC also shows a significant loss.

Vietnam War (second):

This war lasted from November 1, 1955, to April 30, 1975. That is full 19 years 6 months. This war has been termed as a proxy war. Although this war was fought between North and South Vietnam, the reality was that throughout the war, pro-Soviet Russia, North Korea, and America fought directly. America was indirectly defeated in this war. Eventually, the US Army fell under heavy pressure, but by then, nearly 4 lakh soldiers and close to 4 lakh people were killed. This war was fought on the land of four countries for the longest time during the Cold War, in which America lost despite putting all emphasis. Operation Junction City was an 82-day campaign jointly carried out by the United States and the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) during this war. The campaign was launched on February 22, 1967. This was the most extensive air invasion campaign after the operation called 'Market Garden' conducted by the US during World War II.

Iran-Iraq War:

The war between Iran and Iraq was fought between 1980-88. This war had ended indefinitely. The main reason for this war was the border dispute. Iraq was not satisfied with the treaty with the border dispute with Iraq in the 70s. In this war, European countries distinguished themselves from the war, but they helped Iraq as weapons. Thousands of soldiers were killed in this war, which lasted for eight years. During this war, Iraq dumped 400 million gallons of crude oil into the Persian Gulf, causing considerable damage to the environment. This war not only created human and economic loss but also caused significant damage to the environment.

War of Crimean:

In this war fought between the Russian Empire and the European superpowers over the Ottoman Empire of Turkey, millions of lives were also lost. In this battle, on one side was the army of the Russian Czar, which was at that time, on the other hand, Britain, France, the Sardinian, and the Ottoman Empire. The war was about the domination of the religious sites of Catholics and Orthodox Christians, which lasted from October 1853 to February 1856. Nearly 8 lakh people died on both sides. The horrors of this war at that time were almost the same as that of World War One. This war, in a real sense, laid the foundation for coalition armies and battles.

Asia-Pacific War (Atlantic War):

The battle fought between Japan and the coalition forces against the backdrop of the Second World War was extremely deadly for the world. In this war, America launched the world's first nuclear attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In which between August 6 and 9, nearly two and a half million people died. This war was fought throughout East Asia and East Southern Asia. The spread of the war ranged from China, Korea, Vietnam, Eastern Soviet Russia, the Chinese Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean to Burma, Thailand, and India. With the nuclear attack, this war ended with the Second World War, killing about 6 million soldiers and about 350 million ordinary people.

Afghanistan War:

In the direct battles between Soviet Russia and Afghanistan, millions of people died in the war between December 24, 1979, to February 15, 1989, millions of people are still living as refugees. The Soviet army had to retreat in this war, which lasted 9 years, 1 month, three weeks, and 1 day. The Afghan Mujahideen got US support in this war. It was a war that wrote the final script for the fall of Soviet Russia. Among the terrible consequences of this war was the outbreak of civil war, which continues till now. US-led NATO forces have been campaigning continuously since October 7, 2001, to suppress this internal Afghanistan war. In which America overthrew the Taliban to power. But when this war ends, no one has the answer. How much public wealth has been lost in both the battles of Afghanistan since World War II, it is not yet clear. After being exhausted, US President Barack Obama has ordered US troops to leave Afghanistan. Most of the coalition forces have already traveled from Afghanistan.
