Amazon Orders Employees to Delete TikTok, Decision to Withdraw Within 5 Hours

Legend e-commerce company Amazon has had to withdraw a decision. Amazon had emailed its employees to immediately remove the TikTok app, but now Amazon has come to the backfoot with the same order in which it asked the employees to remove the TikTok app.

The decision was taken back in 5 hours.
Five hours after sending the email, it was clarified by Amazon that the mail had been mistaken. Amazon stated in its explanation that some employees were sent emails by mistake. There is currently no change in our policies regarding TikTok.

In an email sent to employees to remove the app, the TikTok app was cited as a security threat. The company says that the Chinese app is a security threat, so TikTok should not be used on phones that receive emails from Amazon.

America has millions of employees.
However, after the controversy escalated, the company termed the email regarding the removal of TikTok as a mistake. Amazon is the second-largest private employer in the US after Walmart. Amazon has over 8.40 lakh employees worldwide.

India banned 59 Chinese apps.
If Amazon did not withdraw its order, TikTok could have suffered a lot. After a border clash between India and Chinese troops last month, the Indian government has banned 59 Chinese apps, including TikTok.

America can also ban the Chinese app.
TikTok is owned by Chinese Internet company ByteDance. After the Chinese app is banned in India, now these apps can be banned in the US as well.

Recently, US Secretary Mike Pompeo praised India's decision to ban the Chinese app TikTok. Now the US can also ban all Chinese apps, including TikTok. "The US is definitely considering a ban on Chinese social media apps, including TikTok," Pompeo said.
